I am a user and fan of basic mobile. I have used mobiles like Nokia 3310, 1100, 2300 and Sony Ericsson J230i. Most of my friends think that I do not buy an expensive mobile because I prefer to save money. But in my opinion and a mobile phone should fulfil the basic requirements of people which is making and receiving calls and hence it should be best in this regard. Apart of these I rarely use any other feature of the mobile except FM radio. Hence I do not think it’s a wise decision to pay for the whole lot when I am going to use only a small percentage of that. So when I had to buy a new mobile, I decided to buy another Nokia set. I have spent three to four days on reading reviews on internet and finally decided to buy Nokia 2630, which was having many features (some of which I do not require). When I went to buy the mobile I couldn’t find that particular model available in any of the shop. So I told the sales person about my requirement. I told him that I need only FM in the mobile apart from the basic features. He demoed Nokia 1661 to me which was costing Rs 1900. The look of the set was so nice that it caught my attention at first sight. I bought this mobile and currently evaluating the same set. When I went to my office with this mobile I got very interesting responses from my colleagues. Some of them told me that I could have bought a blackberry kind of phone and some of them praised my mobile saying it is worth its price in its looks and features. One of my friends, N, has a very special style of passing comments on any matter. I am really fond of his style and most important thing is that it doesn’t hurt anyone. So he was referring to a person in the senior management of my company and he said, “Are wo bhi kuch dino pahle tak aisa garibon wala mobile rakhta tha!” (Even he used to have mobiles like poor people.). His comment made everyone laugh and I fired on him (Of course cheerfully) saying that N, “are you telling me poor or what?” All my colleagues also started asking him how come he uttered like this. Everyone actually started pulling his leg. We all enjoyed this mobile and leg pulling episode a lot. My senior always use to tell N that he will write about him in company’s magazine. So I also decided to write few words about him as well as my new mobile. The best thing about this mobile I observed is, no one has asked me for a treat, ha ha ha!
Cheers,
Kamlesh
