Meet the techies.
Today we have decided to classify one of the most commonly found species in all the metro cities in India – Techie. All of you must be hearing this stupid word in your day to day life. This article is our effort to make you aware of this word and the mass identified by it. So let us start with its definition:
Who is a techie?
‘One who is unaware of what is happening in his surrounding, but thinks he knows everything’
‘One who is adaptable to only a closed environment, but claims he is adaptable to the world’
There can be many more, but we are limiting ourselves to two definitions only. Now we focus on the life and living style of a techie. We did some research in this area also and we came to the conclusion that the lifestyle of a techie depends on the category of the techie. So here we present you the categories of techies identified so far:
Married Techie, Unmarried Techie
Rich Techie, Poor Techie
Intelligent & Successful Techie, Lucky & Successful Techie, Honest & Unsuccessful Techie
Coder Techie, QA Techie
Workaholic Techie, Alcoholic Techie
Fake Techie
Junior Level Techie, Manager Level Techie
*The list above is liable to be modified as the research is still on.
Finally we decided to do some research about the nature about techies. We found that these are the kind of people who make the most use of chat applications. Apart from that they are fond of taking part in regular group discussions during lunch and snacks times. Though they do not leave any topic out from their discussion but there are few they like most. When you talk about manager level techies who happen to be rich techies also they prefer to talk about share markets, politics, scams, books & authors and so on. But most of the techies have few common items/entities to talk about or to show off. Let us have a look on these:
Mobile, Camera, iPod, Laptop, Manager, HR, Coding, Switch, Package
Bike, Car, Flat, Onsite, Appraisal, Increment, Tracking, Restaurants, Weekends (TGIF!)
Forwarded Mails etc.
We are concluding our research article here only albeit there are lot many things we can share about techies. One thing you might have noticed that the word techie seems to be derived from the word technology and the above article in no way infers the same. So we are leaving you with this open question as to how this is possible…
Cheers,
Kanishk & Kamlesh

सड़क में है गड्ढा या गड्ढे में सड़क!!
The following lines had been written by me when I was a first year student of NIT Patna. It was a rainy day in Patna when I hardly escaped falling from my bike after it crashed into a big ditch on the road. The impact was so high that it had thrown my mind into short term poetic mode (you guessed right! I have watched GAJANI yesterday :) ) and while returning home I had rhymed these lines in the honour of all the government servants who are supposed to be responsible for such condition of roads. This also got published in the annual magazine of NIT Patna.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Hope you liked it.
Cheers,
Kamlesh

Aarush's First Technical Endeavour
Aarush is 6 months and 2 days old today. From last few days he has started showing his interest in my laptop. Whenever he sees the laptop he tries his best to come near to it and starts pushing all its keys. I have bought an optical mouse recently which is a kind of transparent and appears very bright and colourful when plugged into the laptop. So instead of giving him the freedom on laptop I have given the mouse to play. He attempted all his stunts with the mouse like taking its different parts into his mouth, beating the mouse with his hands, pulling its wire and so on. I was watching television and so I was not noticing what’s going on the laptop as the end result. Finally when I have taken the mouse back from Aarush, I saw a new toolbar created on my desktop. The toolbar is for a shortcut of a folder I have placed on the desktop and the toolbar is displayed on the top of the desktop window horizontally with all the folders of the root folder listed side by side. At first sight, I thought he has done something wrong or changed some settings as I had not used such feature of Windows before. When I debugged to know what he exactly did both I and my wife were surprised. I know it does not indicate that Aarush is a genius or he is a wiz-kid, but being a father it felt really great. Hence I want to save this memory and hope google allows me to keep this page live till Aarush grows old enough to understand it.
These are few moments where parents fight to claim, “Aakhir beta kiska hai!”

Kamlesh
